Hong Kong, until 1997 a leased British colony, has a population of approximately 6.8 million people occupying 1,100 square kilometers of territory consisting of multiple islands such as Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories and Islands. This population figure does include 12 to 20 million tourist visitors per year (including Ilene, Gary and myself, of course.)
