Land Iguana, North Seymour Island

Land Iguana

We were strictly limited to walking on paths, defined by these white-painted sticks. When
animals walked (or lay down) upon the path, we were instructed to go around them so as
not to disturb them in any way. The efforts to conserve the Galapagos as a Ecuadorian
National Treasure has resulted (positively, I think) in keeping the islands relatively pristine
and unchanged by modern visitors.
